The Sun & The Moon Play

Micah, Jamey, and Teancum signed up for a Performance Arts class that was held this week. They started on Monday and came up with a play idea. Then they worked the rest of the week on developing the story and making costumes. Of course my boys had to throw in some Star Wars plots, so you'll see Jamey as Darth Vader and both he and Teancum had light sabers in the play. The sun and the moon were battling and a little chinchilla saved the day -- that is the long and short of it -- so now the sun gets the sky half the time and the moon gets the sky the other half of the time. At first Teancum was refusing to be in the play because they weren't following all of his story lines, but then they compromised by letting him tell a story in the middle of the play (and when he did you could hardly hear a word he said, he was so shy) but everybody was happy with it in the end. I thought it would be good for Jamey to do since he's tried out for Missoula Children's Theater 4 times and never gotten in, so hopefully he learned some acting pointers and hopefully he had the kind of experience he hoped to have each time he tried out for Missoula, but he sure didn't have many parts and I never heard him say a word. Oh well, it is experience being in front of an audience, right?
