2003
This week marks the 5 year anniversary of the day we moved into our home! We moved in on August 11, 2003. We have lived in this home for longer than any other home or apartment during our married lives! And I suspect we'll live here for many years to come. I think of all the improvements and changes we've made to the house and it makes me tired. We sure have customized it to fit our family, adding the play room, hot tub, master bathroom, second set of washer & dryer, 2 dishwashers, 2 fridges, taking out doors, building the shed, putting the trampoline into the ground, building our garden fence & garden, our fort, building a 6th bedroom, painting walls, putting up walls, taking down walls, new carpet, removing carpet in our bathrooms and kitchen, tiling or pergo-ing floors, redoing the downstairs bathroom, building the pantry out of thin air, adding the hot tub & deck, removing the cement steps in back, lockers in the garage, storage space above the garage, the twins' custom-built bedroom & furniture, and a wide variety of other odds and ends. It's been a pretty slow year for home improvements so far! James built me a laundry chute while I was in Washington DC and that is about it as far as home improvements this summer! We need to get our deck finished and the hot tub insulated before cold weather sets in!
I just absolutely love our house - it is so perfect for us! I love our neighborhood and how close we are to everything -- school, church, work, the store, etc. Sometimes I wish we had more space and especially a bigger back yard, but considering how big our family is and the high price of housing right now, we sure are lucky to have this house. And the most important part -- we didn't have any little girls until we moved into this house!

Look at that carpet! Isn't that a Blast from the Past!?!

Wow! Look at how your family and your home have changed in 5 years! That's really cool to see!
Wow that's a long list of home improvements! Sounds like you guys have been super busy! We've been in our home for eight years now - the longest Craig has lived anywhere in his whole life - and the our only improvements have been putting in our yard, building garage shelves, and finishing the basement! It is great that James is handy enough to do all those projects to make the house your home!
