Happy Thoughts from the Past Week

Happy Thoughts from the Past Week:
  • colorful crystals expanding in water
  • a cousin who is idolized by her little fan club president, and who is a beautiful dancer
  • a box full of books
  • little pre-schoolers touching flowers tenderly
  • little pre-schoolers pulling leaves off trees
  • homemade Mother's Day presents and cards
  • kids who write "you are the best mom in the world" and really mean it
  • soccer, soccer, soccer, soccer, soccer, soccer, soccer, soccer
  • wind, wind, wind, wind, wind, wind, wind, wind, wind, wind, wind, wind
  • cute singers singing cute songs
  • a Daddy Daughter date to Hannah Montana (he was the only male in the theater) Boy, does he ever love that little girl!
  • a successful temple trip weekend
  • a soccer game is more important than a Mass Bands concert, and Mom let him miss his band concert, with permission from his music teacher
  • a soccer game is more important than a week-long Yellowstone trip with his class, but Mom did NOT let him miss his Yellowstone trip
  • french dip sandwiches (yum!) and fun time with grandparents

Classic Quotes from the Past Week:

  • Teancum: "Look at that glowing temple! It's totally glowing!" Mom: "Yes, we got married in that temple." Totally impressed, "You mean you got married in the glowing temple!?!?"
  • Teancum: He saw a comercial on tv for a place that builds sheds on your property. He said, "you guys could just pay those people to build the shed and then you wouldn't have to do all that work" (speaking of the soccer shed, Cameron's Eagle project)
  • Micah: "Are there any other books I should know about?"
Rebecca's friend Paige from afternoon pre-school runs the Children's Museum. She let us borrow a set of crystals and color tablets. The kids went to town with it!

Isabelle had her dance recital on Saturday night. Rebecca had been looking forward to this all weekend and kept asking, "is it time to go to the recital yet?" It was really fun, and surprising how many classes there were of Rebecca's age (or younger!) since there is only 1 class her age here at her dance studio. Rebecca is SO excited for her own dance recital this Saturday. She wants to be just like Isabelle.

finally -- they came!

The pre-schoolers field trip to Sprouts Green House (more about that later)
4th-6th grade Choir Concert. Micah ran straight from reffing a game and barely made it to the concert in time. He threatened that he would wear his ref shirt under his sweater, but I'm sure glad he didn't -- it would have shown for sure!

I just finished reading the excerpt of your book on-line. You've written it just beautifully. Thanks for being so brave.
