On your marks... Get set... GO!!!

Last week Lizzie Lu had taken one or two solo steps at different times, but last night she was taking 3-4 steps at a time unaided! So 2 days before her 1st birthday were Elly's official first steps. She was pretty tired of it by the time we grabbed the camera, but we did manage to get a few sets of steps on film and they are below.

I looked in the kids' journals to see when each of them took their first steps. Here's the run-down:

Cameron: 11 1/2 months

Micah: right before 12 months

Ethan: 15 months
Ethan was born with a club foot and had to wear a brace for his first 3 months of life, so he has done pretty much everything physical a little bit late. I remember taking him to our church parking lot many times in Moab to practice with the walker. His club foot was caused by the positioning in the womb. His birth mom is about my height and build, and the twins each weighed about 5 lbs. at birth so that would be like me having a 10 lb. baby in my tummy, so you can see why it would have been squishy. By the time we got the twins, he was no longer wearing his brace.

Ian: 12 1/2 months

Jamey: 11 1/2 months

Teancum: 13 months

Rebecca: 12 1/2 months

Queen Elizabeth: just before 12 months!
